Gaynor Minden
Coppelia is proud to represent the most innovative firm for the production of pointe shoes. Gaynor Minden has completely revolutionized the way to interpret the realization of the pointe shoes.
Founded in 1993 by the ex dancer Eliza Gaynor in the artistic district of the Chelsea in Manhattan-New York, and from her husband John Minden, the pointe shoe GM derives from a research eight years long in which Eliza has dedicated her life to find and develop some innovative materials that could replace the pressed cardboard and the mix of glue and vegetable flour , until then used by all the producers to realize the traditional pointe shoes.
Practicing her own experience in the working side of the family firm and effecting a capillary search of the materials that could guarantee the necessary support to the dancers, Eliza has patented at an international level what until today is recognized as the greatest innovation in the world of the pointe shoes: the Gaynor Minden.
Realized with a structure in Poron 3000 of varying density, it is finished up with a precious satin shaped for every size of shoe, it is internally covered with a treated cotton layer and velvet with neoprene inserts to amortize the pressure in the zones of great effort and it is sideways equipped with an elastic lace: the pointe shoe Gaynor Minden represents the "state of the art" of the pointe shoes worldwide. The ballet dancers of the most important international companies as the American Ballet Theatre (ABT), the England's Royal Ballet and the Kirov Ballet , use since a long time Gaynor Minden as pointe shoe.
Several tests have been conducted for reaching the realization of this extraordinary product: tested on different surfaces and in different climatic situations, with dancers of different physical structures and weights, morphology of foot and technical level, the results have shown that the GM shoe guarantees a very ample range of use , and above all it has a duration 10 times stronger than the traditional shoes. The GM has even realized a robot to simulate 100.000 relevès: the GM shoes overcome this test without problems and the structure is not ruined at all.
